MiM: ¿Qué experiencias o lecciones has aprendido compartiendo escenario con Myles Kennedy y Tim Montana?

The power of alternative rock roars back with Sons of Silver, who will release their highly anticipated live EP, "7 Cities 7 Songs," on October 3rd. This album captures the raw and electrifying essence of their recent tour with Myles Kennedy and Tim Montana, with seven songs recorded in seven different cities. Mixed by renowned Grammy-nominated producer Tim Palmer (U2, Pearl Jam, David Bowie), the EP reflects the band's live intensity and marks a new chapter in their career. Meanwhile, Sons of Silver is already in the studio working on unreleased music for release in 2026, consolidating their creative energy and projecting their evolution into the future. This is an excellent opportunity for Made in Metal to chat with the singer and guitarist Peter Argyropoulos
MiM: What motivated you to capture this tour on a live LP instead of a studio release?
SS: We’re at our best when we’re performing in front of an audience. We wanted to give fans who haven’t seen a performance a taste of that experience as well as give fans who have seen us live something to relive that moment.
MiM: What was the process like selecting a representative song from each city?
SS: It was tedious! Traditionally, live albums feature a single show. From the beginning, we knew we wanted to choose songs from different shows to have a wider audience of people who could say, “I was at that show.” So, Kevin and I (Peter) made rough mixes of each show. We went through the shows and created a short list of best performances by song. It took a couple of months of reviewing and re-reviewing to get to the final selections.
MiM: What differences do you feel between the energy of the studio and that of the stage, now that the EP reflects that raw live experience?
SS: The primary difference is that we “own” the songs, so to speak, when we play them live. In the studio—when writing—we're just getting to know the songs, their spirit, and our parts. By the time we play them live, most unknowns are behind us. The expression is confident and in the moment.
MiM: You worked with producer Tim Palmer, known for his work with U2, Pearl Jam, and David Bowie. What did his vision contribute to this project?
SS: Tim mixed (and contributed some guitar and keyboard parts) our latest studio album, Runaway Emotions. His work took recordings we had made ourselves to where we had always dreamed. He was the perfect fit for us. So, when it came time to mix the live album, our request of him was simple: leave the performances raw and make it sound like the rooms they were performed in. And he did so, perfectly.
MiM: What experiences or lessons have you learned from sharing the stage with Myles Kennedy and Tim Montana?
SS: Professionalism, graciousness, and kindness are everything when working with multiple acts on the same tour.
MiM: Any special anecdotes you remember from the seven cities that are now featured on the EP?
SS: I mentioned that Kevin and I made rough mixes of each show. Well, while listening through them, we both noticed that we could layer the different shows on top of one another, and they would line up within seconds of each other, especially in the final weeks of the tour. We had our set down tight!
MiM: How did the audiences react in those different cities? Did you notice different nuances in each place?
SS: Audience reaction was fantastic. And it grew as word of mouth spread online, and the tour continued. We have made plenty of new fans who are anxious to see us again. The feeling’s mutual for us!
MiM: You are already working on new material for 2026. What musical direction are you exploring compared to what you present on this EP?
SS: Inspired by this new live album of ours, we’re exploring keeping things real. All the songs have been written and worked up together, as if we were on a stage. We plan to keep the production the same.
MiM: Do you feel this live release is a bridge to the next creative phase of Sons of Silver?
SS: Yes, it’s renewed our spirit for live performance and reminded us to avoid the pitfall of overproducing.
MiM: What role does live performance play in the band's identity, considering you have decided to immortalize it in this format?
SS: Performing is everything to us. That’s why we write. Performing is challenging, invigorating, and inspiring. Nearly all the great acts have been great performers. It’s not a coincidence.
MiM: What do you hope fans will feel when they hear 7 Cities 7 Songs for the first time?
SS: I hope they get lost in the performances and want to come to one of our shows.
MiM: If you could describe this EP in three words, which would you choose?
SS: Raw, genuine, inspired.
MIM: Finally, I wanted you to feel free to share a few words with your fans and our readers.
SS: Thank you for your support. Please stay up to date with the band @sonsofsilverband on Instagram and @SonsOfSilver on Facebook.
