"Como profesional y si quieres vivir de la música, tienes que hacer más proyectos".
Elisbieta Ramírez conversa con Ilker Ersin, bajista de Lacrimas Profundere, la banda alemana de gothic metal que en 2019 editó su más reciente disco, 'Bleeding the Stars'. Con esta entrevista le damos la bienvenida a nuestra nueva colaboradora.
MiM - Hola Ilker, eres compositor, productor, bajista y también tienes una gran voz, ¡felicitaciones! Entre estas habilidades, ¿con cuál te sientes más cómodo?
IE - Me siento cómodo con todo lo que tiene que ver con la música, pero lo que más me gusta es estar en el escenario como bajista.
MiM - Fuiste bajista de Freedom Call y Moon 'Doc. ¿Hay historias interesantes durante ese período?
IE - Sí, aprendí de Herman Frank (ex-Accept, Victory) lo que es importante como músico profesional, hay muchas historias sobre cómo actuar en situaciones difíciles y muchas cosas divertidas. Pero la mejor experiencia fue cuando Herman Frank rompió dos ventanas traseras de nuestros autos con un gabinete Engl en tres días. Una vez fue la del coche de nuestro baterista, luego fue del mío.
MiM - ¿Cuáles son las fortalezas que te permiten crecer como músico?
IE - Profesionalismo, buena preparación, buen sonido y buena gente a mi alrededor.
MiM - ¿Cuándo conociste a Lacrimas Profundere?
IE - A principios de 2019, necesitaban un bajista y nuestro técnico de sonido Max nos conectó. Luego visité uno de sus shows de la gira actual.
MiM - ¿Cuándo te convertiste oficialmente en miembro de la banda? ¿Te pidieron que te unieras a ellos, cuéntanos un poco cómo sucedió esto?
IE - Primero ayudé, pero a medida que la gira europea con 69 Eyes se acercaba más y más, estaba claro que solo podía hacer tantos conciertos en estas circunstancias como miembro permanente. Poco antes de esta gira, me convertí en miembro fijo de la banda.

IE - Es oscuro, melancólico y creo que con Julian en la voz es más poderoso que con el último cantante.
MiM - ¿Quién se encarga de componer y escribir las canciones para la banda?
IE - Olly sigue siendo el principal compositor.
MiM - ¿Cómo fue estar en el escenario en esta última gira de octubre con Lacrimas Profundere, cómo fue esta experiencia en Hamburgo, Berlín y otras ciudades?
IE - Fue bueno estar de vuelta en el escenario, ver a la banda, al equipo y a los fans. Los shows fueron todos entusiastas y eufóricos, tanto de los fans como de la banda.
MiM - ¿Tienes planes de volver de gira con Lacrimas Profundere?
IE - Sí, por supuesto. Me gustan los chicos y las canciones y trato de pasar un buen rato con la banda, el equipo y los fans.
MiM - ¿Estás trabajando en un nuevo álbum? ¿Qué nos puedes contar sobre eso?
IE - Estoy escribiendo mucho, pero hay algo nuevo, nuevos planes, todavía es un secreto.
MiM - ¿Podemos esperar más videos?
IE - Sí, y haré más desde el estudio en el futuro.

IE - Hay una banda más llamada Dawn of Amber con Thomen "The Omen" Stauch en la batería (ex-Blind Guardian), Ryan Strain en la voz (Enigmatic Entrance), Benedikt Zimniak (Mekong Delta) y Michael Böttcher (ex-Emergency Gate) , Pikes Edge) en guitarras. Death Metal melódico de Alemania.
MiM - Trabajar en diferentes bandas o diferentes proyectos debe ser ajetreado y difícil para todos, incluso cuando lo disfrutas, ¿qué piensas de eso?
IE - Como profesional y si quieres vivir de la música, TIENES que hacer más proyectos. Uno de los principales problemas es la mala compensación de Spotify, por ejemplo.
MiM - Sobre las giras, debido a la situación actual, ¿crees que es bueno como siempre, hay un antes y un después de esta pandemia?
IE - Ya no será lo mismo que solía ser. Las giras a otros países serán difíciles de planificar porque cada país tiene diferentes regulaciones. Los festivales con gente de todo el mundo solo se pueden realizar con controles muy estrictos. O cruceros como 70000 toneladas de metal de donde venía gente de todo el mundo son impensables en esta situación. Todo el mundo tiene que estar vacunado para que casi todo vuelva a ser como antes.
MiM - Algo que le gustaría decir a los fans...
IE - Manténganse saludables, ámense, tengan respeto y vive y dejar vivir.

Hello, my name is Elisbieta Ramírez and it is a huge pleasure to make this interview with Ilker Ersin, bass player from Lacrimas Profundere, the gothic metal German band that in 2019 published their last material, “Bleeding the Stars”.
MiM - Hello Ilker, you are a songwriter, producer, bass player and have a great voice too, congratulations! Among these skills, which one do you feel more comfortable with?
IE - I feel comfortable with everything that has to do with music, but I like most to be on stage as a bass player.
MiM - You were bass player for Freedom Call and Moon' Doc. Are there any interesting stories during that period?
IE - Yes, I learned from Herman Frank (ex-Accept, Victory) what is important as a professional musician, there are a lot of stories about how to act in difficult situations and a lot of funny stuff. But the best experience was when Herman Frank smashed two rear windows of our cars with an Engl cabinet within three days. Once from our drummer's car, then from mine.
MiM - What are the strengths that allow you to grow as a musician?
IE - Professionalism, good preparation, good sound, and good people around me.
MiM - When did you first meet Lacrimas Profundere?
IE - Early 2019, they needed a bass player and our soundman Max connected us. Then I visited one of their shows of the current tour.
MiM - When did you officially become a band member? Did they ask you to join the band, tell us a little bit about how this happened?
IE - I helped out first, but as the European tour with 69 Eyes got closer and closer it was clear that I could only make so many appointments under these circumstances as a permanent member. Shortly before this tour, I became a fixed band member.
MiM - What can you say about the sound of the band?
IE - It is dark, melancholic and I think with Julian on vocals it is more powerful than with the last singer.
MiM - Who is in charge of composing and writing the songs for the band?
IE - Olly is still the main songwriter.
MiM - How did you like to be on stage for this latest October tour with Lacrimas Profundere, how was this experience in Hamburg, Berlin, and other cities?
IE - It was good to be back on stage, to see the band, the crew, and the fans. The shows were all enthusiastic and euphoric, from the fans as well as from the band.
MiM - Do you have plans to go back on tour with Lacrimas Profundere?
IE - Yes, of course. I like the guys and the songs and I try to have a good time with the band/crew/fans.
MiM - Are you working on a new album? What can you tell us about that?
IE - I'm writing a lot, but there is a new thing in planning, it is still a secret.
MiM - Can we wait for more videos?
IE - Yes, and I will do more from the studio in the future.
MiM - Tell us something about your other projects.

MiM - Being working in different bands or different projects must be busy and difficult for everyone, even when you enjoy it, what do you think about that?
IE - As a professional and if you want to make a living from music, you HAVE to do more projects. One of the main problems is Spotify's poor compensation for example.
MiM - About touring, due to the current situation, do you think is good as it ever was, there is a before and after this pandemic?
IE - It will no longer be the same as it used to be. Cross-country tours will be difficult to plan because each country has different regulations.
